Le projet "Le Petit Prince & Moi" est une  série de cinq ateliers de création d'une heure et demie pendant lesquels les participants retracent leurs itinéraires de vie en relation avec des extraits tirés du roman Le Petit Prince d'Antoine de Saint-Exupéry à travers des séances de discussions, de dessin et de bricolage mettant en valeur leur singularité et leur vision artistique culminant en un finissage d'exposition d'oeuvres d'art.

C'est en lisant Le Petit Prince qui m'est venue l'idée de créer ces ateliers artistiques mettant en valeur la différence et la singularité de chacun. Nous avons tous et toutes une interprétation différente du roman et c'est cette proximité avec les personnages qui nous y rattache et qui rend la richesse de notre parcours si unique.

Le Petit Prince & Moi a été exclusivement adapté pour les clientèles neuro divergentes incluant les individus vivant avec le trouble du spectre de l'autisme (TSA) ainsi que les individus vivant avec des déficiences intellectuelles légères, visant à célébrer l’authenticité et la différence comme étant un atout au sein d’une communauté sociale et artistique.

 

Le Petit Prince & Moi a pu être accueilli et réalisé parmi les organismes Rêvanous (automne, 2021),

L'Atelier Le fil d'Ariane , à l'école secondaire Jeanne-Mance  et au camp musical de CAMMAC (2022) .

 

Activités inclues dans le programme : ​

• Auto-portraits et biographies des participants;

• Les participants apportent un objet qui leur est cher;

• Esquisse d'une personne qui les ont aidé dans leur parcours de vie et un conseil qui leur a été donné;

• Esquisse de leur chambre pour représenter leur environnement personnel dans lequel ils habitent; 

• Peinture automatique sur grande toile, laissant aller leur imagination et signature artistique

• Fabrication d'oiseaux en origamis soulignant l'individualité et la singularité de chaque participant;

• Fabrication d'avions en bâtons de bois pour souligner leur parcours de vie;

• Présentation finale des oeuvres d'art au public.

“The Little Prince & I” consists of five 90 minute workshops in which participants are invited to reflect on their personal life experiences though drawing, painting, and arts and crafts exercises in relationship with excerpts of the novel The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

 

During the workshops, participants are be encouraged to share their personal life experiences and special memories which which are then used to stimulate their artworks. The program concludes with an exhibition of the works produced during the workshops.

It is after reading The Little Prince that I had the idea to develop creative workshops in order to celebrate differences and the uniqueness of each and everyone. We all have many interpretations of the novel and it is with the proximity of the characters that we can all relate and share our own personal stories. 

 

The Little Prince & I has been exclusively adapted for neuro divergent clienteles with autism spectrum disorder and individuals with mild intellectual disabilities (MID) in order to raise awareness on the importance of each individual through stories we can share and learn from each other and with that nourish a healthy and accepting society. 

 

The project was a real success with the  Montreal based non-profit organizations Rêvanous (fall, 2021), L’atelier Le fil d’Ariane, at the Jeanne-Mance High School and at the CAMMAC music camp (2022).

Activities related to the program :​

• Self-portraits and biography of each participants;

• Participants share an object that is important to them;

• Participants make origami cranes highlighting their individuality;

• Participants make wooden airplanes to signify their life journey;

• Participants draw their room, representing their personal living environment;

• Participants draw a person that has helped them in their lives with an advice they carry with them;

• Participants paint freely on a huge canvas in order to let go their imagination and own artistic signature;

• Final exhibition of all of the artworks of the participants to the public.
